Born March 15, 1767 in Waxhaw district, New Lancaster County, South Carolina

Died June 8, 1845 at the Hermitage in Nashville and is buried there in the garden

1791 Married Rachel Donelson Robards

1795 Member of Tennessee state Constitutional Convention

1796-97 U. S. Representative from Tennessee

1797-97 U. S. Senator from Tennessee

1798-1804 Judge of the Tennessee Supreme Court

1812-15 Major General in War of 1812

1817-18 Commander of U. S. Troops in Seminole War in florida

1821 Provisional Governor of the Territory of Florida

1823 U. S. Senator from Tennessee

1829-37 Seventh President of the U. S.
