Each DeMolay Chapter must be sponsored by a recognized group of Masons. It may be a Blue Lodge, a Scottish Rite or York Rite Body, a Shrine Temple or club, or some other similar Masonic group. It may even be a group of Master Masons forming a Square and Compass Club for the primary purpose of sponsoring a DeMolay Chapter. Masonic sponsorship enables DeMolay Chapters to have dependable, consecrated leadership and the use of Masonic buildings to house DeMolay activities.
The immediate supervision of every DeMolay Chapter lies in the hands of an Advisory Council. This Advisory Council is composed of interested Masons. One of the members of the Advisory Council is designated the "Chapter Advisor" and is the main counselor and advisor to the Chapter members. This Chapter Advisor is a friend whom each member of a Chapter can look upon as a person to whom problems can be taken with understanding.
You as a Master Mason can be of invaluable help to this worthwhile youth movement in any of the following ways:
Offer your leadership talents in being an Advisor.
See if some Masonic organization you are a member of wants to sponsor a DeMolay Chapter.
Urge your son, nephew, grandson, or other young 13-21 year old relative to join DeMolay.
Look around for other eligible young men in your neighborhood or among the families of your friends for possible new DeMolay members.
Boost and help DeMolay at every opportunity that presents itself.

If we work upon brass, time will efface it;
If we rear temples, they will crumble into dust;
But if we work upon immortal souls, if we imbue them with principles,
With the just fear of the Creator and love of fellowman,
We engrave on those tablets something which will brighten eternity."
